Enjoy the Inspirational Interview below.
Joe: Hi Henrik, thank you for agreeing to participate in this interview. I've enjoyed reading your blog and would like to know what inspired you to create the Positivity Blog?
Henrik:
I had discovered a passion for self-improvement and liked to write, so
starting a blog about this topic sounded like a fun hobby. Then it grew
and is now a pretty popular blog with tens of thousands of subscribers.
Joe:
On your website, you've mentioned that you used to be a real
procrastinator. What single piece of advice would you share with
someone who has a similar issue?
Henrik:
Break down the tasks into smaller steps so it does not feel so
overwhelming and you start procrastinating. Then just focus on doing the
first small step. When that is done just focus on doing the next step
and so on until you have done it all and you are finished.
Joe:
As evident from your writings, you’ve made several significant positive
life changes. Many people would like to make positive changes in their
lives, but feel overwhelmed and don’t how to start. What would you
recommend as a first step towards a series of positive life changes?
Henrik:
One good thing to start with is your energy and working out. By working
out in some way a couple of times each week you will have more energy
for what you want to do in life. And you will feel better in a natural
way. Your mood will improve, you will think more clearly and feel less
inner tension and stress. I highly recommend finding an activity that
you enjoy doing because that is the most important thing to make sure
that you continue getting regular exercise.
Joe: As a
high-profile blogger you have a lot of fans, but you must also have some
critics. How do you remain positive and motivated in the face of
criticism and negative attacks?
Henrik: I
listen to the criticism and see if I can learn something. Then I move
on and focus on all the people that I can help and that do like what I
am doing.
Joe: Since this site is an inspirational quotes site, do you have a favorite inspirational quote?
Henrik: I really like this quote:
"Though I might travel afar, I will meet only what I carry with me, for every man is a mirror. We see only ourselves reflected in those around us. Their attitudes and actions are only a reflection of our own. The whole world and its condition has its counterparts within us all. Turn the gaze inward. Correct yourself and your world will change." - Kirsten Zambucka
Joe: How about a favorite inspirational movie?
Henrik: I found the movies Fight Club, The Shawshank Redemption, and Gattaca to be very inspiring.
Joe:
It's apparent from your writings that you are continually growing,
learning, and sharing. What is it that moves you in this direction,
when most people find it easier to accept the status quo?
Henrik:
Curiosity mostly, I think. I am still really curious about personal
development and I want to see how I can improve in various ways. I also
have a good set of routines and habits by now that let me perform pretty
well consistently.
Joe: What are you currently working on and what should we expect to see in the future form Henrik Edberg and the Positivity Blog?
Henrik: I am working on a book called The Art of Relaxed Productivity.
It is basically about getting the most important things done every day
with a minimum of stress. I am hoping it will help a lot of people to
improve their work habits so that they can get the results they want,
but also find more peaceful free time each day to use as they wish.
Joe: Thanks Henrik for the wonderful interview and for sharing your time and answers with us.
